Building an AI agent is one thing. Giving it a real job, the right context, and enough autonomy to keep working is another.
Salesforce is trying to close that gap with seven new job-ready Agentforce agents built for specific roles across sales, service, commerce, employee support, and back-office operations.
Instead of starting from a blank canvas, businesses can begin with agents that already come with the skills, actions, and data models needed for the job, then tailor them to how their teams actually work.
Meet Casey, Paige, Carter, Hunter, Marshall, Piper, and Fin, seven specialized agents with very different jobs to do. Here’s what each one brings to the Agentforce team.
Salesforce’s job-ready Agentforce agents are prebuilt agents created to handle specific jobs across a business.
Each agent comes with a defined role along with the skills, actions, and data models required for that work. They use business data and context from Salesforce to understand what needs to be done and take the right actions.
Businesses can configure these agents according to their existing processes, permission sets, business rules, security requirements, and brand.
So instead of defining everything from the beginning, teams get an agent that already understands the type of work it is expected to handle and can then adapt it to their own Salesforce environment.
Salesforce introduced seven job-ready agents for different areas of business, including service, employee support, commerce, sales, inbound pipeline generation, supply chain, and customer experience. Each comes with skills, actions, and data models designed for its role.
Here is what each agent does.
Casey is Salesforce’s Help Agent for customer service. It is built to resolve customer issues using Salesforce Knowledge, customer data, uploaded files, and approved web content.
Casey can answer questions, take service actions, and bring in a human representative when needed.
Casey takes care of common service requests while giving human representatives the context they need when a conversation requires their involvement.
Paige is Salesforce’s employee service agent for IT and HR support. It helps employees get answers and complete requests from the tools they already use.
Paige can handle routine requests directly and coordinate more complex workflows when several steps or systems are involved.
Paige brings common IT and HR support into one employee service experience while routing more complex work through the right processes.
Carter is Salesforce’s Shopper Agent for Commerce Cloud. It works directly on the storefront and helps customers throughout the shopping journey.
Carter can use the shopper’s current page and account context to make product assistance more relevant.
Carter brings product assistance into the shopping experience so customers can get help while they continue browsing and buying.
Hunter is Salesforce’s outbound sales agent designed to work across the sales cycle. It can research prospects, engage buyers, progress opportunities, prepare proposals, and support pipeline activities.
Hunter can also continue working toward a sales goal over time while keeping its plan, progress, and customer context in view.
Hunter stays involved beyond the first prospecting task and can continue supporting sellers as opportunities move through the sales process.
Marshall is the super agent behind Agentforce Operations. It is designed for supply chain, finance, and other middle and back-office processes involving multiple systems, agents, and people.
Users can describe a process to Marshall, and it can help build and coordinate the workflow needed to run it.
Marshall focuses on completing the full operational process rather than automating one isolated task within it.
Piper is an AI SDR agent built for inbound pipeline generation. It engages buyers, qualifies them, and helps move relevant prospects toward meetings and sales pipeline.
It can use CRM and marketing context while the buyer is actively interacting with the business.
Piper covers the gap between inbound interest and qualified pipeline by staying involved through engagement, qualification, and sales handoff.
Fin is Intercom’s Customer Agent and is now part of Salesforce’s job-ready agent portfolio. It is built for complex customer experience workflows across service, sales, and ecommerce.
Fin can use customer history, business knowledge, and connected systems to answer questions and take actions during customer interactions.
Fin goes beyond answering support questions and can work across different customer interactions while keeping context connected throughout the experience.
The main difference is the starting point.
With a job-ready Agentforce agent, Salesforce has already defined the role and included the skills, actions, and data models needed for that type of work. Businesses can then adapt the agent to their processes, data, permissions, and requirements.
Building a custom agent gives businesses more control over what the agent is designed to do. In Agentforce Builder, teams can define the agent’s purpose, configure subagents and actions, connect data sources and channels, add business logic and guardrails, and test the agent before deployment.
Job-ready agents do not replace Agentforce Builder or custom agent development. They give businesses another starting point. Teams can use a prebuilt agent when its role matches the work they need to handle, or build and configure their own agent when the requirement is more specific.
As of September 2026, six of the seven job-ready agents are generally available. Hunter is currently in pilot, with general availability planned for November 2026.
Casey, Paige, Carter, Marshall, Piper, and Fin are available now. Hunter is the only agent in the lineup that has not yet reached general availability.
Salesforce also states that availability can vary by region and customer agreement, so businesses should confirm access for their Salesforce environment before planning a deployment.
Seven agents. Seven very different jobs. And that is probably the most interesting part of Salesforce’s new Agentforce lineup.
Instead of treating every AI agent like a blank slate, Salesforce is giving businesses a more practical starting point with agents already built around real roles across sales, service, commerce, employee support, and operations.
The next step is making them work with your actual Salesforce setup.
At MIDCAI, we help businesses design and implement Agentforce around the way their Salesforce environment already works.
